Director of Business Development  

Reports to President

 

Leviathan (www.lvthn.com) under the Envoy Group (www.weareenvoy.com) is looking for a proactive self-starter to own the business development process from inception to close. You will be identifying and sourcing new business opportunities, qualifying leads and driving the strategy and process for pitches and proposals. You will guide all efforts on opportunity generation, scope identification, pitching, negotiating and deal close. You will work closely with the Account team to transition and onboard new accounts and projects. A successful candidate will be able to articulate and demonstrate Leviathan’s capabilities effectively, will have solution-selling skills, and the ability to adeptly understand business hurdles and create strong interpersonal relationships.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Source new business opportunities
  • Create and maintain a new business pipeline
  • Be able to effectively communicate Leviathan’s core capabilities, services and differentiators
  • Successfully develop relationships with potential prospects
  • Attend applicable industry networking events
  • Work with management and key personnel on strategy for pitching and closing new business
  • Be able to competently identify and qualify opportunities
  • Be able to work effectively with the Account team to scope projects
  • Accurately forecast sales opportunities
  • Meet and exceed new business revenue targets
  • Effectively and accurately manage personal revenue pipeline to maximize all new business opportunities and earn repeat business from customers
  • Ensure relationships for accounts that will provide new business are continuously developed, strengthened and cultivated
  • Accountability for sales analysis and targeting strategy within region to focus on the highest value opportunities
  • Continuously update product, industry and competitor knowledge to provide informed recommendations to customers
  • Develop opportunity strategies and formal written proposals that result in new customer relationships

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of business development experience in branded environments, with themed entertainment and/or event experience a plus.
  • Ability to develop and maintain executive-level relationships
  • Ability to demonstrate the trajectory of previous growth over time, a methodical approach to the business development process, and established relationships in a wide variety of markets.
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • A proven record for selling complex services and solutions at senior levels of organizations.
  • A demonstrated record of success in a solutions-oriented, innovative, creative professional services environment; start-up environment experience a strong plus.
  • Ability to make decisions, such as prioritizing relationships to develop, negotiating with clients (external and internal), and overcoming obstacles with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to travel up to 80% of the time.
